There is a powerful scene in A24s 2019 film “The Last Black Man in San Francisco”. The movie was filmed both as a love letter to San Francisco, but also a meditation on its perceived injustices. After overhearing two women complain about San Francisco, the movie’s protagonist, Jimmie Fails, interrupts them. He asks how long they’ve lived in San Francisco. Only about a year. “You don’t get to hate San Francisco, you don’t get to hate it unless you love it,” said Fails.

Three hours after midnight, on April 15, a van of special operatives descended on the University of Oregon campus to carry out a secret mission. The team of veterans and volunteers were trained at an off-site location to carry out this mission. Shrouded by darkness, the mission is declared a success, around 4:30 a.m. The newly formed Eugene chapter of Extinction Rebellion left its mark on Oregon’s campus. What was their mission? Espionage? Assassination? Hostage rescue? The target was, in fact, a large tree chosen for high visibility on the busiest part of Oregon’s campus.

On Jan. 11, 2015, a crowd of 2,106 fans came to Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Ore, to watch the Ducks lose by over 25 points to Oregon State for the second game in a row. This was newly hired coach Kelly Graves’s first taste at the Civil War rivalry. It was the largest crowd Oregon Women’s Basketball drew in the 2014–2015 season.

Spanish voters are discontent with Spain’s high unemployment figures. Politicians from all parties have responded and made job creation the center of their campaign strategy. According to Spain’s Center for Sociological Research, the second largest concern among Spanish voters is politicians. Distrust in politicians and a lack of faith in the political system are high as the Spanish government faces deadlock.
