In February of 2020 the University of Oregon opened an Esports Lounge. The lounge served as an official practice ground for Oregon's five esports teams, allowing the teams to sit next to each other for their official matches as well. The lounge is also open to everyone in the Eugene community to come use the high tech hardware and connect with other students about video games. The esports lounge has become a hub for watch parties, local tournaments, and community events of all kinds. I have taken an interest in organizing events for the esports lounge that showcase everything beautiful about Eugene's gaming community. The link below is a feature story from DuckTV Esports on the grand opening of the lounge.
